Mission Briefing — Tens and Ones

In this mission, you will build two-digit numbers using tens and ones.

What is a ten?

  • 10 ones make 1 ten.
  • Counting by tens goes: 10, 20, 30, 40...

What is a two-digit number?

  • The first digit tells the tens.
  • The second digit tells the ones.

Example

  • 34 means 3 tens and 4 ones.
  • That is the same as 30 + 4.

Say it out loud: “three tens, four ones” → “thirty-four.”
