✍️ WRITING (40 Lessons)🟡 C. Creative Writing

← Back to Level 2

Objective

I can describe a magical or faraway place using vivid words and sensory details (what I might see, hear, smell, feel, or taste) while staying focused on one main idea.

Materials

Tip: Use strong adjectives and precise nouns. Replace nice or good with words that paint a picture.

Mini-lesson — How to paint a picture with words

  1. Pick one place: a crystal cave, a cloud city, a moon garden, or a hidden jungle.
  2. Zoom in: choose 2–3 features (colors, shapes, sounds, weather, creatures).
  3. Add senses: what could you see, hear, smell, or feel there?
  4. Use vivid words: bright, glowing, misty, echoing, spicy, shimmering.
  5. Stay focused: keep every sentence about the same place and mood.

Guided Practice — Trace on the Pad

Trace key words, then write a short description of a cloud city (3–5 sentences):

  • Key words: glowing, misty, echoing, shimmering
  • Helpful outline:
    1. Introduce the place (one main idea).
    2. Add 2–3 senses (what you see/hear/smell/feel).
    3. Wrap up with the overall feeling or mood.
