Lesson 27: Write Invitations for Events

✍️ WRITING (40 Lessons)🟣 D. Functional & Real-Life Writing

← Back to Level 2

Objective

I can write a simple invitation that includes who, what, when, where, and RSVP, using polite and clear sentences.

Materials

Tip: Keep it friendly and clear. Readers should know exactly when and where to come and how to reply.

Mini-lesson — What goes in an invitation?

  1. Who & What: Who is invited and what is the event?
  2. When: Day and time (e.g., Saturday, 3:00 p.m.).
  3. Where: Place (address or room).
  4. Extras: What to bring or wear.
  5. RSVP: How to reply (to whom, by when).

Polite openers like “You’re invited…” and closers like “Hope to see you!” make it friendly.

Guided Practice — Plan your invitation

Use the pad to sketch these lines for a birthday party invitation:

  • Who & What: You’re invited to Mia’s 8th birthday!
  • When: Saturday, May 10, 3:00–5:00 p.m.
  • Where: 210 Maple Street, Community Room
  • Extras: Wear comfy shoes for games.
  • RSVP: Text Mia’s mom by May 7.
