✍️ WRITING (40 Lessons)🟠 E. Writing Projects

← Back to Level 2

Objective

I can plan and write about my own invention idea by naming a problem, explaining my solution, listing key features, and telling how it helps people.

Materials

Tip: Use the pattern Problem → Solution → Features → How it helps. Keep it clear and simple.

Mini-lesson — Turn problems into inventions

  1. Find a problem: What bug or bother do people face?
  2. Offer a solution: Your invention should fix or reduce the problem.
  3. List features: 2–3 special parts or actions that make it work.
  4. Explain benefits: Who does it help and how?
  5. Name it: A short, catchy name helps readers remember it.

Guided Practice — Trace and plan

Trace key words, then sketch your idea:

  • Key words: problem, solution, feature, help
  • Example outline:
    1. Problem: Backpacks feel heavy on long walks.
    2. Solution: FeatherPack uses small wheels and soft straps.
    3. Features: folds flat; glow strip for safety; pocket scale.
    4. Helps: Kids carry books with less strain.
