Objective

I can plan and create a short autobiography booklet that tells about my life using first-person voice, a simple timeline, and chapters with captions and photos/illustrations.

Materials

Suggested booklet chapters: About Me, My Family, Early Memory, School Days, Favorites, Proud Moments, Hopes & Dreams.

Mini-lesson — What makes a strong autobiography?

  1. First-person voice: Use I, me, my to tell your story.
  2. Clear order: Organize with a timeline (earliest → latest) or themed chapters.
  3. Specific details: Names, places, ages, feelings, and short quotes make it real.
  4. Captions: Add 1–2 sentence captions under photos or drawings.
  5. Reflection: Tell what you learned or how you changed.

Guided Practice — Plan with the Tracing Pad

On the pad, jot chapter headings and timeline dots (ages). Then draft a 5-sentence introduction:

  1. Who I am (name/age).
  2. Where I live and with whom.
  3. One early memory.
  4. One proud moment.
  5. What I hope for next.
