← Back to Level 2

Objective

I can add one clear descriptive word (adjective) to make a simple sentence stronger.

Materials

Think about color, size, and feeling words. Keep the sentence simple.

Mini-lesson — What is a descriptive word?

  1. An adjective tells more about a noun (color, size, feeling, texture).
  2. Add one adjective that fits: “The dog runs.” → “The brown dog runs.”
  3. Read the sentence aloud. Does it make sense?
  4. Use a capital at the start and a full stop at the end.

Guided Practice — Add one adjective

Read the base sentence, then add one adjective that fits:

  • The dog runs. → The brown dog runs.
  • I see a cat. → I see a small cat.
  • The ball rolls. → The red ball rolls.
